The 2010 State Convention of the Socialist Party of Massachusetts was held on Sunday, 28 February, beginning  at 1 pm in the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) office in Cambridge

Socialists from across the state came together to discuss current events, initiative new local organizing projects, and prepare for a full calendar of upcoming activism, education and organization.

* Socializing, snacks, setup
** For those who show up early

* Introductions
** Distribute convention packets
** Approve agenda
** Approve membership applications, distribute voting cards.

* Discussion
** Socialism Today
*** An introduction to the Socialist Party USA and SPMA
*** Review of the last year: SP organizing, campaign work, get involved!
** Our Current Political Context
*** Antiwar efforts (national and local)
*** The Economy: Government Budget Cuts, tuition hikes, and labor struggles
*** Healthcare (what is a principled demand?)
*** Justice for Jason

* Business
** Campaigns
*** Designate specific causes/movements for immediate action
*** Define committees and/or work groups for campaigns
*** Create action plans for each campaign
** Organizing New Locals:
*** Pioneer Valley/Western Mass.
*** Worcester/Central Mass.
*** South Shore/Cape Cod
*** North Shore/Lawrence/Lowell
** [[Constitution]] and governance
*** Consolidating bank accounts and the process for approving expenditures
*** The State Executive Committee (SEC) is currently composed of a Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.  [[February 2010 State Convention/Proposed by-laws|Proposed by-laws]] would expand the State Executive Committee and clarify its members' duties.
*** Consider forming a State Organizing Committee.
*** Elect 2010 SEC
