From SP Boston
To mark four years of war and occupation in Iraq, over five dozen groups united to organize a demonstration on the Boston Common on 24 March 2007. With some 5,000 in attendance, March 24 was the largest antiwar demonstration the city has seen since the start of the war.
The demonstration limited its points of unity to two key demands: stop the war and bring the troops home now. At the same time, it encouraged participating organizations to promote their own agendas and perspectives. This helped in the creation of an encouraging coalition of diverse groups working together on a common goal of ending the war in Iraq.
